| News from St. Michael's | Happy New Year! Firstly, thank you to all of you who came to church over the Christmas period and filled the pews, not to mention raised the rafters with all the singing. We had many services over the Christmas period, all of which were well attended, with many faces new to me. All of us at St. Michael’s and the Methodists too, enjoyed welcoming and sharing worship with you all. Now we are back in the swing of things with services most weeks: 1st Sunday of the month Holy Communion 10am 2nd Sunday of the month Worship with Family and Friends 11am 3rd Sunday of the month Evensong 6.00pm 4th Sunday of the month Joint worship with Methodists 11am 5th Sunday of the month Communion at one of the Benefice churches 10am As always, everyone is welcome so come along when you can. We are also planning our Lent lunches, which take place in the church rooms each Wednesday during lent, starting on 17th February. From 12.00 noon we offer a choice of homemade soups, bread roll, cheese and crackers, a piece of fruit and a hot drink for £3.50 per person. In the absence of any café in Silverstone this provides a great place to meet friends for an informal meal and make a contribution to charity. The money collected goes to Family Care. Please put it in your diaries and come along. I would also like to thank all those people who have helped and supported the church during the cold snap. Volunteers have made the path safe by clearing snow and ice and helping in various ways to ensure smooth running all round. Now that it appears to be over we can look forward to the crocuses appearing to brighten up the approach to the church. Clare Ray |
