| News from the SRA | Further developments at the SRA mean that the SRA and Pavilion Bar are now run and managed as one. This is great news for the village as the Bar is now open to all the community (as opposed to members only) and membership is no longer required. Currently we are maintaining the existing opening hours for the Bar; Thursday and Friday evening, Saturday from 12.00 lunch until approximately 6pm (subject to custom) and reopening at 7pm together with Sunday 12 -3pm. We will also be scheduling our opening times in the future around the field use for our local football, junior football, cricket, tennis and radio control car groups so they will also be able to use the facilities on offer along with their spectators. Subject to the bar usage by the village we would be happy to extend opening hours further if and when required. We are also looking at putting in place other facilities into the bar that may be required for customers. We look forward to welcoming you all. The SRA will be the venue for this year’s pantomime production brought to us by Silverstone Amateur Dramatics Society. The pantomime will be taking place during the school holiday week starting Monday 15th February. Performances will be throughout the week including Thursday, Friday and Saturday when the main and function room bars will be available. For more information on tickets for the production together with performance times, look out on village notice boards for posters, Crofts Stores or contact Silverstone Amateur Dramatics. The SRA facilities provide the community with an invaluable venue for all of the local events. Not only do we offer the fields and Tennis Courts for families and clubs to enjoy, we have a large hall, function bar area and refurbished, rated kitchen, available for hire for local groups, functions, weddings etc. With a new front entrance you can now access the facility easily, making it user-friendly for all. The toilet facilities have been refurbished and the hall is a superb size allowing a capacity of approximately 150. The area of the function bar, that was known locally as "The Old Pool Room" has been refurbished and is now available for local Businesses, Committees and Groups to use as a meeting room. This is a larger room than the old committee room that extends from the Sports and Social Club and has access to both the kitchen and a bar if required. Rates for booking this room are very reasonable and to book the additional facilities of a bar or use of the kitchen is very competitively priced. You can either hire the SRA by the hour for your group to meet or by the afternoon & evening for your function.
