Speedwatch 2017

In total, the Community Speedwatch team operating in the village reported 575 drivers for speeding during the three weeks it was inn operation in March and April. This was an increase of 45 over last year's figure.

Silverstone Parish Plan and Village Design Statement

The Parish Plan and Village Design statement have been sent to South Northants Council to go forward for adoption by them as a Supplementary Planning Document to then be considered against future planning applications.

The documents will also be sent to the Planning Inspectorate to be considered as part of the Appeal papers on the Church Street planning application Refusal.

Finalised version of the Parish Plan and Village Design Statement

The Parish Plan and Village Design Statement is now finalised and will form an important basis for the development of a Neighbourhood Plan.

It is a very worthwhile read and gives a fascinating insight to the history, morphology, community, village structure and much more including possible future development within Silverstone.

Neighbourhood Plan

At the Parish Council meeting on Monday 8th May the council voted unanimously to support the creation of a Neighbourhood plan.

The Finance Committee is to consider and recommend to the Full Council for agreement how suitable financing for the Plan based on the budget provided will be accommodated.

Result of village ballot declared

The result of the village ballot regarding the possibility of the Parish Council moving forward with the production of a Neighbourhood Plan has shown a majority of those voted as being in favour.

Awards for Local Campsites

Seven campsites were honoured at the annual Campsite Rating Awards last week, hosted by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC).

The awards were held at Silverstone Racing Club, Silverstone Circuit on Friday, 21 April with Cllr Caryl Billingham MBE, chairman of SNC, in attendance to present the awards.

New School move delayed again

Move to New School Delayed

Dear Parent/Carer

Unfortunately the planned move to our new school between 30th May and 9th June has been post-poned and we will not be moving into our new school premises over the May half-term.
