Horse riding to be banned completely in Hazelborough Woods

Horse riding will not be permitted in the wood as of 20th February 2017. Despite requests for riders to stay on hard tracks, many have not done so and caused damage to grassy rides, which harms the ecology of the woods and makes the rides difficult to walk on.

Grand Prix - future position clarified

The British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) owners of Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit wishes to make clear that recent press reports suggesting that talks have been unsuccessful and that the British Grand Prix will definitely be dropped after 2019 are speculative and wrong.

Work to begin on new gateway to Towcester

The expansion of Towcester will start on Monday, 6 February with the construction of a new A5 roundabout immediately south of the town.

The roundabout will provide access to the first phase of the Towcester Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE), and create a new gateway feature for the town in front of the Grade I listed Chain Lodge entrance to Towcester Racecourse.

Parish Plan - Updated version

Following the public consultation exercise last month, the Parish Plan and Design Statement has been updated to take into account the views of respondents. It is this updated version that is being submitted for consideration and approval by South Northamptonshire Council.

Good attendance at Neighbourhood Planning Information Session

The meeting was attended by 30 residents, 7 Councillors, a representative from ACRE and one non villager from Wellingborough.

Parish Council approves amended Parish Plan.

At its meeting on Monday, the Parish Councillors present voted unanimously to support the amended Parish Plan and Village Design Statement, following the support the draft document had received at the exhibition last month. School moving date confirmed

In a letter to parents, the Headmaster of Silverstone C.E. Primary School announces that the transfer from the old buildings to the new school will take place over the half term of the Summer term. While the staff get sorted out, the children will get an extra week's half term holiday. The last day at the old schools will be Friday May 26th.
