Future of current School sites under consideration

Northamptonshire County Council is planning for the future of the existing sires of the Junior and Infant schools in the village and has appointed consultants to consider the options.
An informal information meeting was held with available Parish Councillors last month. At this, those present were informed that the initial idea is that NCC is wanting to retain the two original buildings (not the newer extensions) and to incorporate these into small housing developments of five dwellings. The County Council would not itself develop the sites but, if planning permission along these lines were to be granted, would then seek to sell them on with that permission to an independent developer.

Any application for planning permission by NCC would rely on the existing access to the two sites being maintained.

The Parish Council as a whole has not yet discussed the proposition so does not have a formal view about NCC's ideas.
