Successful holiday activity programme arrives in Towcester

Following a change in venue, the popular programme of school holiday activities hosted by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) will become more accessible to Towcester families this summer.Between Monday, 23 July and Friday, 31 August 2018 the Summer Hubs will take place at Magdalen College School in Brackley and Towcester Centre for Leisure.Cllr Karen Cooper, SNC's Portfolio Holder for Wellbeing, said: "This year we've teamed up with our partners Legacy Leisure at Towcester Centre for Leisure to combine the best of our activity programme with the best of their fantastic facilities."Thousands of children have enjoyed the council's fun-packed holiday activity programme which gives parents piece of mind and the flexibility to juggle work and school holidays."I look forward to welcoming even more children to this summer's programme of healthy and happy fun."The holiday activity programme is designed to promote physical and social wellbeing and is centred around physical activity, sports, games and arts and crafts.The programme also includes guest activities delivered by qualified coaches which include table tennis, tennis, trampolining, athletics, Glow Kids Dance and swimming.Activities are suitable for children aged five to 15 who are split into age appropriate groups.All sessions are delivered by qualified staff covered by standard background checks and who are first aid trained.Lunch breaks are supervised but children must bring a packed lunch. Activities will go ahead come rain or shine, but children should be prepared for the elements with suitable clothing, footwear, hats and sunscreen.Sessions can be booked online via - - up until 5pm the evening before and can either be full day (8:45am to 5pm) or half day bookings (8:45am to 3pm).A full day session costs £19.40 and a half day session costs £15.30. Unfortunately the programme cannot accept any form for childcare vouchers.
